The Cross
How He Suffered
Song: At The Cross
Poem: The Cross
Raising Lazurus
It didn't have to happen. But it did. Jesus' most beloved friend was sick. Jesus could have healed him. But somthing unusalal happened. Jesus waited for four day's! On the fourth day, he went to Mary's house. But it was too late. Well, maybe it was not too late. In fact, Jesus wanted to be late. He went to the tomb. Here we come to the shortest verse in the Bible: Jesus wept! You can learn more about this story yourself.

The Cross
"it was Just wood"
Actchuly, it was somthing else. It was the place off Christ's death. It was the cross.
Jesus died on the (tree) cross. Some pepole call it the tree. And theres nothing wrong with that. And agian, you can read more about this story in your very own Bible.
how he suffured.
The cross in GOLGOTHA. The place where Christ died. On calvery hill. The cross is where he died. The sadest day in Jesurselm. You can read more in your own Bible.
He did somthing He did not deserve to do. What did he do? He caught the biggest bike jump? No way!
He died on the cross for our sins! And this is how it happend: Jesus stays at Bethany. From there, He goes to the mount of olives. Jesus throws the money changers out of the temple, then he teaches there. On the way back to Betheny Jesus teaches at the mount of olives. Later that evening at Betheny, Mary, pours ointment on Jesus' feet. Jesus and his disciples eat the Last supper together in an uppur room. After supper, they go to the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus is taken to Caiapha's house to be tried. Jesus is transferred to the Antonia fortress to be tried by Pilot. Jesus is taken to Herod's palace. Herod returns jesus to Pilot. Jesus is condemned and carries his cross through the streets of Jerusalem to Golgotha. There he is crucified. You can read in your Bible.
At The Cross

At the cross
At the cross
Where I first saw the Light
And the burden of my heart rolled away
It was there by faith
I received my sight
And now I am happy all the day
Reapeat
The Cross
The cross on Calvery hill
I wish I could see it, I Bet I will.
'Cause it's the cross on Calvery hill.

The Christmas Story by Aaron Job

Aaron Job drew this around the age of 5 or 6. These were actually the first drawings that made us realize that he had an special understanding of story telling with pictures. The script to this story is from Luke's gospel, but he actually learned it by watching the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. :)

Different Directions

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
Romans 16:20
I asked Aaron Job about the image at the bottom of this page. He said, "That's me and Satan in a boat. We're rowing in different directions." He drew this after hearing his Sunday school teacher use this illustration to explain how Satan is always working against us.

BTW: Though I thought he knew better, I went ahead and made sure that Aaron Job knew the Devil really doesn't have horns and a pitchfork. :)

GOD was with us

Hebrews 13:5b
For he himself has said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."
The tornado struck*
We went downstairs and
slept in the bathroom.
GOD was with us.

*This is a bit of an embellishment on Aaron Job's part. However, we did take cover in the bathroom because the tornado sirens were going off. BTW, those are blankets flapping in the wind as the two children descend the stairs heading for cover. This is the tornado that missed us by only a few miles.

Servants and Singers T-Shirt Design

Servants and Singers is the 3rd - 6th grade children's choir at our church. They're having a contest to come up with a t-shirt design. This is Aaron Job's design concept. He found the Bible verse all by himself, after I showed him how to use a concordance.

Servants and Singers
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving, make melody to our God in the lyre. Psalm 147:7

Playing With Fire

With some gentle manipulation, um, encouragement from dad, Aaron Job attempted this tribute to what is quite possibly the most popular blog in evangelical blogdom:

PYROMANIACS

I think he might've petered out before finishing....here's the original decal:

Now, just how do I explain to a 6 year old what "blogspotting" is...?

Veggin' Out

Anybody remember Mrs. Polly's Paint Box? You know, Cecil the Cat...PBS show...she teaches you how to draw?

No?

Well I do. I remember when I would get to stay home from school when sick, sit in bed and this show would come on during the morning. I would get my pencils & drawing paper and learn from the pros.

The following drawings were a result of Aaron Job sitting in our bed (he wasn't sick though) and watching this video (pictured at right and ON SALE right now for $4.95!!). He watched & learned from the Veggie artists just as I used to watch Mrs. Polly almost thirty years ago.

I added the color to them, and adjusted the contrast a bit so you could better see the lines.

Bob the Tomato

Madame Blueberry

Um...uh...the pea guys or maybe cherry-Bobs...no idea ??

(pardon the pun)

Carrots... in Perspective

Correction: One carrot in perspective...the guy up front is Jr. Asparagus. I should've known by the "do".

Jimmy and Jerry

And my personal favorite - Mr. Lundt!! Here, playing the role of Haman. Personally, I happen to like his role as one of "the pirates who don't do anything." Favorite lines: "You look like Captain Crunch... You're making me hungry."

The Answer to "Guess Who?"

Did you figure out who it was? If you guessed:

...you'd be right! It's Pastor John MacArthur! Aaron Job drew this picture of him last fall when Pastor MacArthur preached at the Bible Church of Little Rock.

Dr. MacArthur is pastor/teacher at Grace Community Church and can be heard daily on the radio broadcast, Grace To You. His ministry of preaching and books have ministered to this family tremendously.

The first correct answer was David "The Thirsty Theologian". He wins the prize - which is a John MacArthur sermon on CD. However, from the looks & links on his blog, I'll be he has every MacArthur sermon already! :o) So David, email me and we'll work something out...maybe I can substitue a Piper CD instead!

There were actually several of you who guessed John MacArthur - despite being tricked by the "younger" hairstyle, as David noted. So, I might just be overly generous and give all the correct answers a MacArthur sermon on CD.

Let's just do that! If you guessed John MacArthur, send me an email with your mailing address & I'll put a cd in the mail to you!

If you like to talk to tomatoes, if a squash can makes you smile, if you like to waltz with potatoes up and down the produce aisle - Have we got a blog for you! Stay tuned...posting this weekend are Aaron Job's next drawings.

Can you guess what they are?

Guess Who?

Thanks to all the new readers of Aaron Job Draws. We've had a pleasant response & are glad you're enjoying the drawings. From this point on, we'll try to post only one or two drawings each week - unless it's another riveting story like The Haunted House. We wouldn't dare let such anxiety build for that long!

So, to celebrate the first inaugural week of Aaron Job Draws, we're going to have a contest!!

Can you guess

who this well known preacher is?

FIRST CORRECT ANSWER WINS A PRIZE!!

Leave your name & your guess in the comments section

and we'll reveal the answer and the prize at noon Friday, January 19th.
